The religions of minoan and mycenaean civilizations



The religion in Minoan and Mycenaean times is the people believed in many different gods and goddesses. Or their religious ways are more commonly known as Greek Mythology. With the 12 gods and goddesses that lived on mount Olympus and lesser gods and goddesses that usually didnt live on Olympus. They used their gods to explain different unexplained activites that happened around them in every day life.

Famous writers in minoan and mycenaean civilizations



There was many different famous writers that lived in the Greek time that we study today. Such as Homer, who wrote the Odyssey and the Iliad. The stories historians aren't sure whether they actually happened or if it was just a realistic fiction that homer wrote to create lessons of bravery and heroism for young Greeks. There were also many famouse poets and philosophers in the ancient Greek times such as Plato, Sophists and Solon along with many different others.

The art of great minoan and mycenaean civilizations




Art work in Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations had a wide variety from pottery to weaving. The Bronze age, or the time in which the Greeks existed was a very popular time for sculptures and pottery. Pottery was considered more of and industry in the Bronze age and was sold to rich people. Much of their art work was based on the Gods and Goddesses. People used states of gods and goddesses to worship and believed that they would protect them and make their lands fertile such as the goddess Demeter.
